MCA Launches CCFS-2026: A Golden Opportunity for Condonation of Delay on Pending Annual Filings
MCA Launches Companies Compliance Facilitation Scheme (CCFS-2026): A Golden Opportunity for Condonation of Delay
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has introduced a landmark initiative to help Indian businesses clear their compliance backlogs. This one-time window allows defaulting companies to regularize their records without the burden of heavy penalties.
Key Highlights of CCFS-2026
Under MCA General Circular No. 01/2026 dated February 24, 2026, companies can now file overdue statutory documents at a fraction of the usual cost. The scheme is specifically designed to promote "Ease of Doing Business" for MSMEs and startups.
-
Financial Relief: Companies only need to pay 10% of the additional fees normally applicable for delayed filings. This represents a 90% waiver on late fees.
-
Operational Window: The scheme is active for a limited 90-day period, from April 15, 2026, to July 15, 2026.

Forms Covered: This includes essential annual filings like Form AOC-4 (Financial Statements) and Form MGT-7 (Annual Returns).
-
Immunity from Prosecution: Completing filings under this scheme provides immunity from penal actions under Sections 92 and 137 of the Companies Act, 2013, provided no adjudication notice was issued prior to the filing.
Strategic Options for Inactive Companies
The scheme also provides a cost-effective exit or "pause" button for companies that are no longer active:
-
Dormant Status: Apply for "Dormant" status via Form MSC-1 by paying only 50% of the normal fee.
-
Company Strike-Off: For those looking to close, Form STK-2 can be filed at 25% of the standard fee.
Why You Should Act Now
Failure to comply by July 15, 2026, may lead to stricter enforcement, including director disqualification and significant daily penalties of 100 per day under Section 403. Taking advantage of this "fresh start" window ensures your company remains in good standing with the Registrar of Companies (ROC).
